Alexis Miller

Alexis Miller is making her mark in the world of broadcast and print media. She brings innovation, dedication, and a unique perspective to today’s dynamic media environment. As a TV news reporter, host, and life style columnist, Alexis Miller is always seeking her next intriguing story. She is passionate about providing the public with hard hitting news coverage and delivering dynamic storytelling. Alexis has interviewed numerous news makers including celebrities, local and national politicians, and an assortment of provocative individuals. Her ethnic background and Spanish language skills help Alexis relate to many types of people and communities. Traveling is in Alexis’ blood and she has lived in the Midwest, east and west coasts of the United States and in Europe. Born in Los Angeles, California, Alexis’ family relocated from the West coast to Chicago--later moving out of the cold and into the warmth of South Florida, where Alexis spent most of her time growing up. When Alexis wasn’t spending her time working in her father’s restaurant/bakery and gaining a true appreciation for the culinary world, she was engulfed in theater and acting. She became a “newsy” at an early age, attending a broadcast journalism magnet school. As a child, Alexis found herself at the anchor desk reading scripts on the teleprompter at the ripe age of 13 years old. She starred in numerous theater productions including, “Bye, Bye Birdie,” “Vagina Monologues,” “Why Colored Girls…” and “Guys and Dolls.” Placing in dozens of local and national competitions, Alexis received acclaim from Harvard and the National Forensics Society for her speech and debate abilities. In 2003, she was recognized by the Miami Herald with a Silver Knight Award in Journalism. Alexis has a degree in English and Communications from the prestigious Tufts University in Boston. While in college, she spent over a year studying abroad at the University College London. During her time in London, Alexis had the opportunity to work on the international assignment desk at the NBC London Headquarters. At NBC she was praised for a story she did on the backlash from the Danish caricatures of the prophet Mohammad. She also worked in New York City at Court TV Network. She was recognized by the network’s president for helping to create a web based news magazine show called, “Inside Court.” Venturing into her love for the arts, Alexis worked in the arts and entertainment department at the CBS affiliate, WBZ in Boston.
