On May 25, 2008, she had RNY Gastric Bypass Surgery at Boston Medical Center, performed by Dr. Donald Hess.
She documented her entire weight loss surgery journey on her YouTube channel and also maintains an active blog about her life as a post-op.
She is a former Board Member for the Weight Loss Surgery Foundation of America, and is the host of the Backstage Pass Radio Program - dedicated to topics dealing with weight loss surgery, obesity, and advocacy.
She is an active guest speaker for Bariatric Programs around the country, and has been invited to participate in conferences like The WLSFA Meet & Greet in Las Vegas, NV, the Endo-Ethicon Blogger Conference, the Obesity Action Coalition Conference and more.
She is available to speak as a guest at conference, bariatric support group meetings,and obesity related support groups.
