Dixie Davey

Dixie Davey has pursued many passions throughout her life. She began her professional career as a Junior Outside Clerk for the law firm Lavan & Walsh in Western Australia. In this position, she was responsible for researching, typing, and registering legal documents. After one year with Lavan & Walsh, Dixie Davey was promoted to Legal Secretary for one of the Conveyancing Managers. A few years later, she became a Settlements Officer. In this new role, her duties included arranging court documents, liaising with clients and other law firms, and managing the rest of the junior staff.

In 1978, Dixie Davey opened a fashion retail outlet store with her mother, a successful bridal gown designer. As the co-owner, partner, and Company Director of Australian Bride, she handled the marketing and office duties of the manufacturer, wholesaler and retailer for nearly 10 years. From 1987 to 1994, Dixie Davey raised her young children. She later worked part time at a French restaurant before taking a position as a Business Banking Consultant with the Bank of Western Australia Ltd (Bankwest). While working at Bankwest, she met her future husband and business partner, John Walker.

Since 2002, Dixie Davey and John Walker have established several businesses, including compost research and development company At Source Organics, web store Becoming Younger, and retirement website Retire in Ecuador. Dixie Davey was the General Manager of At Source Organics for four years. In 2006, she founded the Internet health supply store for Becoming Younger. She also ran a successful eBay store selling natural health books and supplements.

In 2008, Dixie Davey relocated with her husband to Cuenca, Ecuador, after visiting the area on vacation. They started the website Retire-in-Ecuador.com, which promoted opportunities for retirement in the South American country. Dixie Davey also donated her time to teach English to children while in Ecuador.

After living in Thailand for several months in 2011 she has now returned to Australia to continue her University Business Degree as well as supporting her husband in the wellness industry.
