Fell in love with music at a young age. At the age of 15 he came across a DJ Rectangle CD and was blown away. Shortly after he was given 2 CD. decks and a mixer. He would play for hours and hours at a time blasting music through out the night. Looking up to DJ’s like DJ Qbert, DJ Jazzy Jeff, DJ Enferno, DJ Charlie Chan Soprano, DJ AM 'R.I.P", DJ Sir Thurl & DJ Master D. Akeem got recognized by a DJ Sir Thurl was token under Sir Thurl’s wing. (DJ Sir Thurl the Music Choice's Mixtape Channel for 2009. He was also a mixer on KATZ 100.3 The Beat in St. Louis for 10 years before the radio station folded in 2009.)Purchased his first pair of 1200’s and became completely obsessed with turntablism. Learned a couple years with Thurl and his very talented DJ crew. Branched out on his own and penetrated the club scene in Saint Louis. Started a promo company with his business partner called Best Damn College Parties one of the top promo company’s in Saint Louis promoting and throwing the best college parties in the Mid West. Started to get mentored by the world famous DJ Charlie Chan Soprano (Run DMC’s tour DJ). It was quickly realized that his skills on the turntables were incredible. Through years of creativeness, preparation, and perseverance, Akeem used the turntable as a musical instrument, to create party rocking routines. With various sets of Mash-ups, Top 40, Hip-Hop, R&B, Rock, House, Electro, Reggae and Dubstep Akeem's talent was noticed quickly. As an upcoming star, Akeem has played a long side major acts such as; Black Eyed Peas, Corey Gunz (Young Money Ent), Rosci & Terrance (106 & Park Host), Day 26 and many more. His dedication lead him to doing shows with more then 3,000 people. Akeem's ultimate goal is to travel around the world and express his love for music through the turntables.
