DJ PHANTASY
CHICAGO
Phantasy has always had a love and passion for music. With her upbeat personality, superb skills and buckets of talent, she stands her ground in the cutting-edge hip hop/ house music scene, blazing a trail for all women trying to carve out a career in this male-dominated industry. While she hasn’t given up her love for writing and performing hip hop, her main focus now is treating House Music/Hip Hop lovers to a varied mix of delightful music.
She has a natural instinct for what the audience wants to hear, but does not flinch from going off on a musical tangent with her mysterious South African Tribal House. Adding her own smashing productions & songs to her sets, Phantasy now has a complete package to stir things up and have the whole club boogying the night away to her powerful house and hip hop blends.
Even at a young age, she knew that music was the life path best-suited for her.
Before her ambitions led her to DJing, she wrote hip hop and R&B songs and performed at various local clubs in Chicago. Trying to make it in a male dominated hip hop world grew very challenging and tiring for a young Phantasy. After recording several albums and mixtapes, she decided to hang up her microphone and focus on behind the scenes as a ghost writer for several male and female artists. She enrolled in Kennedy King College and majored in Radio Broadcasting/Communications. While attending Kennedy King College, she had her very first live on air broadcasting on WKKC Radio.
Inspired by her cousin Mark with his vinyl Records and 1200’s, she became Intrigued by his ability to blend two records together into one song, she became infatuated with the art of DJing and that’s when DJ Phantasy was born. She began to practice and experiment with several DJ Friends training her on their turntables and mixers. After purchasing her own DJ Equipment, her passion began to blossom. Her musical background comes across in the style of music that she blends. South African House Music flows through her veins, though she will never give up on her love for hip hop.
With her dazzling style, fierce determination, and Midas touch on the turntables, she is sure to brand her feminine mark in this male dominated world of DJing.
