Deb Jarrett

Dog and Cat Trainer and Behaviourist in Edinburgh, United Kingdom

I have over 10 years experience working with dogs and cats in animal shelters, as a pet sitter, and as a veterinary assistant. Recently I completed an MSc in Animal Welfare where I specialized in the welfare and behaviour of dogs and cats. I am a provisional member of the Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors (APBC) and I am working to gain the practical experience necessary for full membership. Presently I am in the Association of Pet Dog Trainers Advanced Course and am working with Dogs & the City and volunteering at Dogs Trust Dogs School.

I use only positive reward based methods in training dogs and cats. Owners want the best for their pets but sometimes require guidance on how to bring out the best in their animal companions. My approach is focused on showing the animals and owners how to make healthy choices for themselves by teaching them the skills they need to thrive.
