Carl Richards
I started as a (mobile) DJ at a very early age. Like a lot of DJ's at that time, my ultimate goal was to make it a career and end up on Radio 1. As none of you will ever have heard of me, you can tell exactly what became of that idea!
I don't have any goals in mind other than to have some fun and hopefully have some listeners to my inane ramblings and musical choices.
I started on internet radio around May 2003 after CMP Radio was featured in the Webscape section of the BBC's Click Online; now simply called 'Click'. CMP closed-down at the end of December 2004 but then some of the people behind that station launched Reach OnAir.
I have always wanted to get involved with hospital radio and now have two shows a week on my local (Harrogate) station and, in 2009 gained a "Commended" certificate in that year'sHBAHospital Radio Awards; making me one of the Top Ten HR presenters in the country.
I only utilise MP3s on my show and I use an excellent package called PlayItLive for playout.
