Born & raised in the Windy City, DJ Go-ILL’s love affair with djing goes back to his teenage years spent attending countless basement parties in Chicago. Being a self professed Hip-Hop Junkie, DJ Go-ILL traces his musical roots back to experimenting with his family’s 70’s soul & funk albums; a component system that included a belt-drive turntable, and a dual tape deck which he used to make pause tapes for his closest friends. Being the consummate b-boy having done everything from graffiti writing to break dancing, DJ Go-ILL has lived the culture of Hip-Hop which aids him in the formulation of all his dj sets mixing multiple music genres seamlessly while moving bodies on the dance floor.

Although Hip-Hop culture and the music it spawned is DJ Go-ILL’s first love he admits to being heavily influenced by Chicago’s house music scene and actually got his start carrying records for a few friends that were local house music dj’s. During the early years of DJ Go-ILL’s career, he spent his time honing his skills and warming up crowds for other dj’s whom he traveled with from Chicago to North Carolina as tour support. This is how he became acquainted with warmer climates and southern hospitality eventually deciding to trade frigid winters in the Midwest and settling in the city of Atlanta. In time DJ Go-ILL graduated from carrying records for other dj’s to trying his hand on the wheels of steel and he never looked back once he got his hands on a pair of Technic 1200 turntables which are still today his weapon of choice. In time DJ Go-ILL developed a reputation for being a versatile dj which has been an asset to him as he has been invited to share the stage with artists and performers over his career and remains an active participant in the underground music scene working in the tradition of dj’s of old that made their mark as recordbreakers and crowd controllers.

With sets consisting of a blend of hip-hop, house, soul, funk, pop, afrobeat, reggae, and 80’s & 90’s hits, DJ Go-ILL remains in popular demand on the club circuit and currently splits his time as a promoter and dj appearing at events in and around the Atlanta area.
