If any Texas DJ can lay claim to the title, The Sound of Austin, it's Jason Jenkins. From his humble beginnings playing high school gigs and house parties in Houston, Jason has proven time and again that dedication and a genuine love of dance music will always form the basis for longevity in a scene that changes by the nanosecond. Over the past decade, Jason has been intimately involved in nearly every major dance music event in Austin's colorful history. He helped build the legendary Paradox nightclub back in 1994, kickstarting that club's influence and success. From there, he started Infectious Productions, his own production company, then proceeded to assist club-oriented movers and shakers like Alien Records, as well as blazing hot nightspots like Element and the late, lamented Twist. In 2001, Jason was part of the team that helped Mega 93.3 become Austin's first all-dance radio phenomenon for the first few crazy years of the new millennium. As if that weren't enough, he's one of the few people who can list world-class Austin producers and remixers Francis Preve, Peter Martin, and Joey Youngman among his closest friends and associates. Jason currently spins and hosts Hypersonic Radio airing every Saturday night from 10p-midnight and features Austin based DJ's and producers and features information regarding the dance music scene in Austin, TX. If anyone in this town can earnestly say that they truly push the boundaries of modern club music, it's Jason Jenkins, and Austin's scene is a richer place because of his dedication. You can catch Jason DJing every Saturday (except the first & third Saturday of the month) at the extremely vibey Lanai Rooftop Lounge in Austin located at 5th & Congress.
