Hello my name is Jose Manuel Gerena but most of the people in the salsa scene know me by my nickname Rico. I was born in Fajardo Puerto Rico and move to the Big Apple New York City at a very young age. I learn to dance Salsa in what we call back in the early 70's as street Salsa. Dancing to the melody of the music. And I also mix salsa with two tape deck back in those days. Now I do some of my mixing with CDJ and Computer. NY style, LA Style,Cuban Timba old school Salsa from the 70's,80's90's plus Mambo but I'am equally comfortable playing other genres. I have the amazing ability to read the crowd, knowing when to play the right salsa grooves and when to switch it up to other genres to keep the crowd pleased and entertained. I enjoy being a Dj it bring so much joy to me to see people dance and enjoying themself. Plus it keeps me young and full of Life. There's nothing like "SALSA"
