Here in the borderland of El Paso, TX, we have a plethora of talented artists whose main goal is not only to entertain but make a difference and leave behind a legacy. One of these artists is DJ Red-1. Born in Kingville, Texas, the California-raised DJ began his career six years ago by playing at house parties in San Diego and Orange County. It wasn't long before he moved to New York and Baltimore, where he began to play in bars and clubs, sharing his unique style, gaining him opportunities to DJ for Chelsea Handler, Big Sean & Wale. Once he arrived in the El Paso scene, his goal was to touch the markets of music that no one else was touching. His mixes cover the entire music spectrum, from Hip Hop and Country to playing Rock and Electro music. He focuses on providing a new experience and playing different music in order to appeal to all crowds. Even though he began in backyards and houses at the beginning of his career, his main purpose has always been to break the mold and be different at every gig he performs. "I want people to leave all their troubles at the door," Says the SwurvRadio DJ. "Let's embrace this music and party tonight."

Red-1, of the Blend Artists, states that one of the most rewarding aspects of his career is when people come up to him and tell him how much fun they had, that they loved his music variety. He also says that one of the best things about DJing is being as creative as possible. "I like trying new things in my sets. No one likes the same ol' basic, safe mix you've been playing for the past three months. I like giving crowds something fresh and different. Something out of the ordinary. Something Fun."
