I started as a software developer(Asp.net) and I am now a QA Manager(Testing Engineer - Sr.Test Analyst – QA Team lead - QA Lead - QA Manager ). It is a great role to find your feet in computing/IT because it can encompass a lot of different aspects. An advantage of a career path like this helps the QA
Manager gain deep knowledge in the testing and development process.
A QA Manager experience not only includes the years of experience in testing, but also includes knowing everything about test techniques, knowing how to perform a product risk assessment, Resource allocation and the development process.
I’ve around 10 years of experience in Testing, where I started as a developer in asp.net. In this position, I understood the development process, and I did my first acceptance tests on the projects developed by my team. The testing part of the job was fun so I specialized in testing and tested for years. Later I became a Test lead and QA manager. And also I have involved in application installation, handling domains and hosting panels.
About 10 years ago I did my first testing without relevant system testing experience as a QA. It was successful and you probably know how these things go: then I got continuous testing assignments and experience, it also went well.
I have specialized in requirements and testing process improvement, at the start without experience in requirements development. And guess what: I’m successful with it! now I have been doing a lot of test process improvement and implementation. And I do that in a different way compared to 10 years ago.
How its Possible?
Testing is not only my profession but also my passion. I am passionate about testing. Without any knowledge of testing you can’t improve that process. You simply need to know a lot about testing to be able to improve it. When I started my testing carrier I read books and blogs, forums about software engineering, testing until late at night, I did the same when I started the requirements process improvement. And for the experience I needed in software development and requirements development? I became friends with the best software and requirements developers in the organization where I did my assignments.
I am still passionate about testing and I keep myself updated about the latest market trends in software testing.I have always been proud to say that I am part of Quality Assurance as Quality
