I am a follower of Christ, wife to Dave, mother and homeschool teacher to two teenagers, DJ age 18, and Casey age 16. We are also foster parents to a sweet little 4 year old boy we have nicknamed 'Coconut', and his precious 6 month old half brother 'Cocoa Bean'. We have recently welcomed two little half siblings, 5 year old 'Mowgli' and 3 year old 'Kiwi'.

I owned a mural and paint contracting company for many years, and struggled to be a good wife, a good mother, and a good painter. One day, God spoke to me and said, "Give it all up and teach those blessings that I have entrusted you with!" I closed my business a few weeks later and have been a stay-at-home-mom and homeschool teacher ever since. Learning to live on one income is hard, but it is so exciting to see how God will provide for us. He always does, and sometimes in the most unexpected and amazing ways possible. What do we expect.......He IS amazing!

God spoke to my family again, and although my husband and I were at 'the finish line' with our two teenagers, we became foster parents. We had made a very bad birth control decision when we were young, which resulted in a tubal ligation. Soon after that surgery, I had yearned for more children, but I now know that God had other things in mind for growing our family.

This blog is about being Servants of Christ. We strive to be good servants every day by taking back our kids (and ourselves) from the world, homeschooling, living frugally on one income, and the joys and heartbreaks of foster care.

So, won't you join me as I make a load of mistakes and get a few things right, grow in my faith and have my faith tested, and enjoy this wonderfu life and family that God has so graciously blessed me with.......all while trying my best to honor Jesus Christ!
