Dimitris P. Kraniotis
Larissa, Greece
Dimitris P. Kraniotis is a Greek poet and medical doctor. He was born in 1966 in Larissa prefecture in central Greece and he originates from Stomio (Larissa) where he grew up. He studied Medicine at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He lives in Larissa and works as an internal medicine specialist physician (internist).
He is the author of 10 poetry books in 7 languages in Greece and abroad: “Traces” (1985), “Clay Faces” (1992), “Fictitious Line” (2005, “Dunes” (2007), “Endogram” (2010), “Edda” (2010), “Illusions”(2010), “Leaves Vowels” (2017), “Tie of Public Decency” (2018) and “Minus One” (2022). Also he is the Editor-in-chief of the international anthology in English “World Poetry 2011” (205 poets from 65 countries).
He has won many international awards for his poetry which has been translated in 36 languages and published in many countries around the World. He was invited and he has participated in several International Poetry Festivals around the World.
He is Academician in Italy (Academy Tiberina of Rome, International Academy of Micenei and Academy of Sicily), Doctor of Literature (Litt. D.) by World Academy of Arts and Culture, President Emeritus of World Congress of Poets (UPLI), President of 22nd World Congress of Poets (Greece 2011) by United Poets Laureate International (UPLI), President of World Poets Society (WPS), Director of Mediterranean Poetry Festival (Larissa, Greece), Chairman of the Writers for Peace Committee of PEN Greece, Ambassador of the Movement “Poetas del Mundo" to Greece, President of International Chamber of Writers and Artists (CIESART) in Greece, Universal Peace Ambassador by Universal Ambassador Peace Circle (France), Vice-President of Thessaly Association of Letters & Arts and Editor of the Greek poetry e-magazine “Poetics @ GR”.
He was Professor of Department of Nursing of University of Thessaly (former TEI of Larissa), Board Member of the Global Harmony Association (Russia), Vice-President of United Poets Laureate International (UPLI), Vice-President of Larissa Union of Poets and Writers, Vice-President of Larissa Medical Association, Editorial Director of medical magazine “Hippocrates” and member of the Editorial Board of literary magazine “Graphi”.
He is member of several organizations (World Poetry Movement (WPM), Poets of the Planet (PoP), Hellenic Literary Society, PEN Greece, National Society of Greek Writers, International Writers Association (IWA), Hellenic Society of Physicians Writers, etc.)
