Don Lourcey

I am employed with North Carolina Virtual Public School as the Director of Professional Learning. As PL director, I oversee the development and evaluation of all of our organization's Professional Learning for our 400+ teachers, our external stakeholders in our state's schools and districts, and our internal staff. Our purpose. NCVPS models its PL initiative after Learning Forward's E6 statement: "Every educator engages in effective professional learning every day so every student achieves." Thus our mission is to develop, design, and implement authentic professional learning experiences for all stakeholders to improve instruction, student learning, and professional practices.

I am honored and privleged to be the husband of Michelle Lourcey (Chief Academic Officer for NCVPS) and daddy of Elizabeth. We live in Statesville, NC along with our two furry children, Tebow and Gator. Yes, that is right. Our family fanatically loves the Florida Gators.
