Donal Lumsden
Houston, Texas, United States
My name is Donal Lumsden. I am currently a 22 year old LSU petroleum engineering drop out looking to shake up the world. Maybe I will return to school to finish my degree... but who knows.
I have invented many things as an independent working alone. My innovative ideas have covered a wide range of topics from biomimetic micro topographies for inhibiting bacterial colonization of a surface (my least original work), to fully mechanical user interfaces for minimally invasive surgery (19 yrs old), to electromagnetic generators (20 yrs old), and most recently a P2P currency with file sharing intellectual property system (21 yrs old). Some of these ideas have been revealed publicly and others have not.
Over the next year, I am looking to join a start up, work hard, and develop a product for the world. I am ready to get involved developing software or hardware. My biggest talents are my spatial reasoning skills and creativity.
I enjoy many games such as Halo, FIFA, HU NL Hold 'em, HU PL Omaha, Scrabble, Dominoes, and Pool. I apply game theoretic analysis to every game I play, which often requires guesstimating odds in real time to make a quantitative decision. I am a prodigious Halo player and strong poker player, but my Scrabble game needs a lot of work.
For hardware development, I am able to work with SolidWorks and Abaqus. For software development, I am able to work with Javascript, MATLab, Python, and some C++.
Academic papers I would like to write next are on the topics of relating creative intelligence to random bit generation (1) and relating gene expression to game theoretic strategy solutions (2).
Some historic people I enjoy include James Clerk Maxwell, Nikola Tesla, Bobby Fischer, Stu Ungar, Syd Barrett, Sigmund Freud, Charles Darwin, John F Nash, and Julian Assange.
