Hi, my name is Danica Airelle, from Manila, Philippines. Thanks for taking the time to visit my site.

I am an Analyst by profession, and a writer by passion. Diamond in the Rough used to be my column name when I was writing for the school publication back in college. It’s a metaphorical expression referring to a person with exceptional characteristics and future potentials, but await perfect timing and circumstances to be revealed later on.

We are all bound to know where do we belong – where we can stand out and serve our purpose. And discovering that road is an exquisite journey which may subject us to adversities, rough phases – all to polish our qualities and bring out the best in us.

Diamond in the Rough will be a testament to my love for food and travel adventures in the hope of enlightening readers on honest reviews and sharing my insights, and in the constant pursuit of allowing myself to learn and grow from my experiences. From time to time, I will also share my pieces of thoughts on life lessons to impart wisdom to my audience. This blog is a work-in-progress, just as how I am as a person, a Diamond in the Rough.

I started my interest in writing perhaps when I was 8. I delighted in sending letters to my loved ones on special occasions and there was this unexplained yearning for me to see my name in our school paper just as how I looked up to fellow students whose works are published in our school organ. I kept a journal when I was 12, back when Internet was not yet that an accessible medium. As a timid child, I wrote down my feelings and translated them into poetry. Then as a writer, I joined contests, trainings, school publications to feed my love for the craft. I knew that I was born to write. This is God’s gift to me and I want to use it for His glory. I want to use this tool to reach my bigger dreams and inspire other people.

All photos and text belong to the author, otherwise stated. I give proper credit if I have other sources. All expenses incurred on documenting a trip or a restaurant review are nonetheless mine – unless it’s a sponsored post which I will explicitly inform you. Imitation or duplication may be a form of flattery, but it is equally disheartening. Steal my works, go ahead, but it’s your accountability.

Join me in my journey as we unravel more of the good things in this universe and learn from it.

Again, welcome to my site and thank you!

XOXO,

DANICA
