Born in Newton and raised in Watertown, I have spent my entire life in the state of Massachusetts. Now I am currently a junior at the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. By May 2015 I plan to have BBA in Corporate Finance. When I finally graduate my plan is to pursue a career in the finance industry and hopefully find myself a job in a big company either in Boston or another major city somewhere in the United States. This past summer I interned at Massachusetts Financial Services (MFS) as an Accounts Payable Intern. It felt great to finally get experience in the field that I want to spend the rest of my life working in. When considering future career paths I not only strive for success in a certain field of study. I also feel it is very important to make sure my passions in life can be fulfilled as well. One passion that I want to make sure I can continue to do is help others. I have always enjoyed the satisfaction I get from making other peoples lives better for as long as I can remember. This could be doing anything from helping people with homework or something school related to helping my mother with things so she can accomplish everything she wanted to do that day. As long as I am helping out people in some way shape or form in my future career I will be able to get up every morning and be happy to go to work. Another passion of mine that I want to continue to peruse is traveling. I have not traveled much in my life, but for the small amount that I have I have come to realize it is something I really enjoy. I have been to places like Mexico, Florida Jamaica and Bermuda, but I haven’t been able to see the other parts of the world. I also plan on studying abroad in Barcelona, Spain my next semester. This will allow me to experience so many new cultures and meet many different types of people. If my future career also involved traveling around the world to do business with other companies that would be another thing I would really enjoy. For the rest of my college career I hope learn more about the finance industry and also learn about international finance while I am in other countries next semester. I also believe it will be very beneficial to get more out of class experience in the finance world. That being said, I hope to land another internship for this coming summer.
