David Norwood II

David A. Norwood II is a native of Macon, Ga. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in speech from Georgia State University. While attending GSU, David volunteered for the award-winning news affair and talk show, In Contact, which aired on Atlanta's PBS station, PBA 30. In 2012, David transitioned from TV to print journalism by studying journalism and international business abroad in Turkey. After his return to the U.S., he joined the university's student newspaper, The Signal, as a sports reporter. He then worked for The Atlanta Voice as an editorial intern during the summer of 2013. After David finished his internship, he was promoted to editor of The Signal's sports section. Under David's leadership as sports editor, the sports section was awarded "Best Community Service in Sports" at the Georgia College Press Association Awards in 2014. After David's tenure as sports editor ended, David worked for Score Atlanta as a sports journalism intern. Recently, David was a guest relations game day staff member for the Carolina Panthers. David is a member of several professional organizations; National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ), Charlotte Area Association of Black Journalists (CAABJ) and the GSU Alumni Association.
