Doaa Farid

Doaa Farid is currently a business reporter at Egypt’s only daily independent newspaper in English ‘The Daily News Egypt’, a freelance writer at the English-language magazine Business Today and a writer at Middle East’s online magazine Scoope Empire.
Farid has received her bachelor of science in Radio and Television broadcasting in English from Faculty of Mass Communication Cairo University in July 2013. However, she has started her professional experience since 2010 as a content producer and a radio presenter of a youth-oriented show at an online radio station affiliated to the American University in Cairo, she presented an entire season of the show along with two other presenters.
Following the 25th of January revolution in 2011, Farid joined another online radio station where she presented for a year, and also prepared the content of, a radio show that hosted independent artists inspired by the uprising.
Immediately after her graduation in 2013, Farid joined Daily News Egypt’s (DNE) business section where she writes daily business, economy and financial news stories and features. She has also interviewed several businessmen and CEOs of local and international leading companies operating in the Egyptian market.
In 2014, Farid joined the writers’ network of Scoop Empire magazine, where she writes weekly pieces for the Thoughts&Insights section. In the same year, she joined the monthly Business Today magazine where she writes business features.
