A doctor of education, who has studied media and popular culture, Diane has an expertise in television and online fan groups. Focusing on audiences of paranormal reality television programs, she created a timeline of paranormal-themed television programs from 1948-2010. This research also explored how viewers use media and popular culture to understand death and the afterlife

Dr. Dobry has been an administrator in higher education public and media relations, publications and marketing for 16+ years--writing and editing, managing publication projects and managing social media, blogs, and media outreach. She has recently taught PR and media studies at the college level.

Dr. Dobry has primarily lived in New York State-going from NYC to rural farm country in Schoharie County, taking a year off to teach language, communication and American Studies in Hungary for a year.

She explored the Hungarian wine industry for three years, traveling the country tasting wines, and imported Hungarian wine under the name Kristof Wines, Inc. As a result, she is quite knowledgeable about
Hungary's wine regions and varietals. Dr. Dobry and a Hungarian colleague team-taught an online international course about marketing and importing wines from Hungary and Dr. Dobry led an agricultural/viticultural tour to Hungary.

Recently, Dr. Dobry has been writing about Florida agricultural, aquacultural and topics of local interest for The Citrus County Chroniclein Crystal River, Florida.
