Dr. James Adams opened Carolinas Coastal Health in 2009 as a single-physician, patient-centered family practice. He has 10 years of prior experience as an emergency room physician.

"Because I treat patients for multiple conditions, I know much more about them than a single specialty physician ever could," he says. "It's so convenient and efficient to have one doctor who knows all about your medical conditions. Few people have the time or desire to continually start over with multiple physicians."
