Jamshid Sheik, MD, your local Internist, with over 35 years private medical practice is now making house calls. Dr. Sheik, one of seven sons, moved to New York where he completed his training in Internal Medicine at Long Island Jewish Hospital and Brooklyn and Manhattan Veterans Administration Hospitals.
He soon began working extremely hard for the Bronx’s poorest underserved neighborhood, even making house calls in the dangerous streets of the south Bronx.
“The families in the neighborhood knew me and respected me as I worked from 7 am to 7 pm without a coffee break or lunch,” says the good doctor.
After 4 years, he moved closer to his home in White Plains and began his private practice in Harrison, Westchester County, NY. This was a striking difference as the community was extremely affluent, similar to Rancho Santa Fe, sprinkled with a lot of ice and snow!

This fund raising effort led to ambulance headquarters being built and to him receiving awards from two Town Mayors.
Leadership skills abounding, he was a founding member and past president of his Alumni Association of his medical school. He was also a past president of Harrison Rotary Club and is now a member of Rancho Santa Fe Rotary Club.
“I am healthy and eager to serve my community with the medical knowledge that I have. I am making house calls to residents of the RSF Village area and Fairbanks Ranch. I will be doing consults-second opinion, general medical care and minor surgery such as wound repair at your home, EKG and blood tests, saving much unnecessary time and aggravations going to distant clinics.”
Jamshid and his wife Jaleh bought their lovely home in the Fairbanks Ranch area ten years ago but had to wait until he closed his medical office in NY before moving permanently last year. When asked if it was difficult to come to California after so many years and friendship in NY, Mrs. Sheik chimed in with a happy “no!” The weather, 45 family members nearby and Dr. Sheik’s five lo
