We have made this page to answer some questions and respond to some advice we get a lot.

1. Are Dodger and Jack litter mates?

Yes, Dodger and Jack are litter mates.

2. Are Dodger and Jack neutered?

Yes, Dodger and Jack were neutered in September of 2016 before they came to me. My vet double checked for me on January 10, 2017 and confirmed they had a complete neuter.

3. How old are they?

As of May 2017 I believe Dodger and Jack to be roughly about a year old. They slowed in growth around Jan to about March and then had a spurt of growth in April and seems to be slowing again now in May.

4. Have they seen a vet? Could one of them be ill?

Yes, they have seen a vet and are both completely healthy.

5. Have you tried...? It really worked for us!

You name it we've tried it. We have exactly three things that are working for us right now.

We've consulted with our vet and spoke to many others who have great experience in bonding and we feel like there are a number of issues here making things difficult for Dodger and Jack:

1. This is not a straight forward bond of two separate bunnies. This is a rebond. We've heard from a couple people that rebonds like this can be difficult. They had a deep bond before but the fighting was violent.

2. They are litter mates this is really the first time they have been apart. Which again could mean the fighting has been too much for them to rebond.

3. They are same sex. While it's not always the case that same sex bonds don't work, it may not be helping in this case. These two may someday prefer girlfriends to being bonded brothers.

We've tried so many techniques and the majority of the bonding methods don't work for these two. They are too focused on each other and get very overwhelmed by each others presence and will fight no matter what is going on around them. Car trips, vacuum cleaners, washers, rattling the pen to make noise, etc. none of it bothers them enough to prevent them from fighting.

Here's what does work: A medium sized tile room with two separate piles of greens on opposite side of the room where they have non threatening distance but can still see each other, the sink where they have no room and no surface traction to fight, a tasty treat on their foreheads for the other too lick while they are in either of these two places.
