Congratulations! Training should begin immediately after you have gotten home with your new pet. Don't let any bad habits get started. Begin the training that will make your dog fit in with your home life, and be a joy to have. These tips will make it easy to train your dog in just the right way.

Small steps, gentle ways and patience are all a part of getting your puppy used to their crate. If your dog seems comfortable inside the crate when the door is open, shut it and feed them a treat. Keep the gate closed for short periods of time, and work your way up to longer times. If the dog becomes agitated, slow down a little more to make them more comfortable.

When corrected your dog verbally, make sure to use dog fish oil, concise wording. Do not waste time ranting about how bad your dog is. Say no and give them a command to do the right thing. Be sure your command tone of voice gets their attention and shows that you're serious.

Use firm control to elicit desirable behaviors from your pet. When your dog does commands correctly, they get a treat. If you get excited, the dog will become excited and everything will be out of control. Remain calm, expect the dog to be calm and provide appropriate rewards.

Your dog needs to be active frequently. Dogs can get bored very easily. Dogs that lose interest are hard to train. You will find that your dog will pay more attention to you when it is exercised and happy. Take your dog on long walks or runs.

When you buy a crate, ensure it is the correct size. You should keep in mind that your dog will get bigger. Find a crate big enough for your adult dog. Don't restrict the size so much so that the dog cannot lie or turn easily.

Stay as consistent as possible during your training regimen. Everyone that works with your dog should use the same commands, as well as the same techniques. It will make it easier for the dog if it only has a simple set of commands and knows what to expect when it obeys.
