I am elated to join the University of Cape Town's IDM) as a PhD student in Medical Virology because of its undisputable beauty, hospitality, academic excellence, and cutting-edge researches. Having received a BSc in Biochemistry (Molecular Biology and Biotechnology majors) from the University of Nairobi (Kenya), I pursued my MSc in Bioinformatics and Computational Molecular Biology at the Rhodes University (South Africa). I am currently under the supervision and mentorship of Prof. Anna-Lise Williamson and Dr. Tracy Meiring, where I am investigating the association between genital microbiome and HPV, and complementarity of penile-cervicovaginal microbiome using deep 16S rRNA sequencing technology. My hobbies include listening to music, playing guitar, soccer, poetry, hiking, photography, and playing console games (FIFA PS in particular)! Ndiyabulela!
