DoHyoung Kim (Raven)

Hello Visitors!

My name is DoHyoung Kim (Raven) from South Korea. I am under the dual degree program between Kelley School of Business, Indiana University and SungKyunKwan University in Korea. As a transfer student, this is my very first semester and I started as sophomore at Kelley School of Business. Currently my major in Kelley school are Finance and Accounting, and plan to pursue minor in Law, Ethics, & Decision-making (LEAD).

I like volunteering work, because I value sharing one's gifts with others. Volunteer experience at Daegu Social Welfare Center and Gapyeong Kkotdongne (the home for disabled people and people in need) formed my kind and caring personality and enhanced my empathic ability, listening skill and communication skill. Also, I developed my teaching skill by teaching students at Daegu Social Welfare Center as an instructor.

I served as the head of ‘Team A’ in Global Business Administration Business Academy, I attained leadership and learned how to manage people. Also, through simulating stock investment game, I obtained stock market analysis skill and brief understanding of investment banking. In addition, studying comparative analysis on financial statements improved my financial statement analysis skill and quantitative analysis skill. Through those activities, I got strong interest in investment banking and decided Accounting / Finance as my major.

I participated in the Keystone case competition in my first semester of Kelley. This case competition increased my understanding and knowledge of how consulting business goes. I contributed excel and access skill, and financial statement analysis skill to analyze the data from the case. Also, I developed ability to create innovative ideas based on data and facts and I improved presenting skill and persuading skill.

Although my team did not make it to the final, the failure encouraged me to study more on the consulting business and consulting cases. Eventually, I changed into a person with strong will and passion for ultimately becoming a person with professionalism and enthusiasm and starting my career in Accounting consultant or Financial advisory service business in future.
