Translator at Translators Without Borders Member of LILA Foundation of Translocal Initiatives.

Language is a passion that goes way beyond the formal communication method required to care, train, protect and help people in normal times as well as during emergencies. My desire to be an integral part of that communication has driven me to work as a translator-editor for 16 years.

Started to work as an interpreter for NYC Hospitals after 9/11. Policies and situations were changing in US at that time which made my work more challenging and interesting. It has helped me cope with different kind of crisis in the following years at a personal and professional level.

Translating literature on the other hand contributes more profoundly to one's own sanity and understanding. Presently, along with my formal translation commitments, I am translating Bengali poetry and novels to English. My first project is set to be published in 2018 by Authorspress, New Delhi, India.
