Martha Dombroski
Martha Dombroski, a Commissioner with the City of Stamford's Patriotic and Special Events Commission in Connecticut, comes to her role with extensive experience in marketing and event planning. For eight years, Ms. Dombroski balanced this role with service as an Executive Assistant with the Catholic Diocese of Bridgeport, five of which were spent with the Office of Vocations. In this position, Martha Dombroski created all external communications for the department, collaborating with the Communications Office to design materials that would create interest in priesthood vocations. She also managed marketing and planning for each department event, including coordination with vendors and preparation of agendas.
Martha Dombroski began her event planning career as a Show Coordinator with Reed Exhibition Companies in Stamford, Connecticut, organizing corporate trade shows. She later went on to join the Stamford Health Foundation as Development Officer for Annual Giving and Communication. Spearheading the company's corporate fundraising programs, Martha Dombroski achieved a steady increase in participation and funds raised in each of her five years of service, including a 9% participation and 42% revenue increase in her second year. She also managed annual appeals to hospital affiliates, developing programs and strategies that resulted in a notable increase in resulting funds. In addition, Martha Dombroski created all fundraising publications for the Foundation, in which role she regularly monitored newsletter readership and web site traffic.
During her tenure with the Stamford Health Foundation, Martha Dombroski earned a Master of Business Administration in Marketing through Sacred Heart University's Accelerated Program in Fairfield, Connecticut. Achieving academic success, she earned membership in business honor society Delta Mu Delta. She continues to apply her theoretical knowledge and practical expertise with the City of Stamford, where she collaborates with fellow Commissioners to plan and organize the city's annual parade events.
