Dominic Daly
Oxford, United Kingdom
In 2008, I attended Durham University with a BA in Modern Languages, specialising in Arabic and Spanish. During my degree I learnt key skills in communication whilst also learning about different cultures.
In 2010, I headed to Syria for the third year of my course. I studied at the Koleat al-Adab in Damascus where I focussed on MSA (Modern Standard Arabic). I also took classes in Syrian colloquial Arabic, which helped me considerably when I was out there.
I've always been fond of travelling and, whilst I had the time and the freedom to do it, I travelled to Lebanon, Turkey, UAE and Iraq. In the UAE I visited Dubai where I took part in the Dubai Rugby 7s tournament with a local Syrian team who I was playing for. In Iraq I visited the Kurdish region in the north where I travelled around and visited several cultural sites, including Lalish, Erbil (Hawler), Suleimania and Dohuk.
After graduating from Durham University I took part in one of Pareto Law's assessment days, where I was picked out as a possible candidate for a position at 1E, where I currently work.
Since joining 1E I have enjoyed travelling to Madrid for TechEd 2013, whilst also taking part in and working inside the Sales team, whilst also getting a look into the weird and wonderful world of Marketing.
I enjoy travelling and I'm hoping to one day be able to travel all over the world and visit as many places as possible, but that is all dependant on how successful I am!
In September 2014 I am enrolled to do a MSc in Marketing at Oxford Brookes, where I will look to specialise in Digital Marketing.
Please get in touch with me if you want to find out more about what I do, I'm always happy to have a chat.
