She asked me to tell her the three words that every girl wants to hear… So I whispered ever so softly into her ear… “I play drums.”

I am a student, musician, and writer currently living in Syracuse, New York and attending Syracuse University. My field of study is Audio Arts, fostered by Syracuse’s Newhouse School and School of Visual Performing Arts. My coursework ranges from studio management, media usage and strategies, and entrepreneurship. In fact, I have been much more interested in the entrepreneurship portion of my coursework. The idea of starting my own company gives me goosebumps and with these professors and mentors of this calibre, I feel like I can do anything. Is that dangerous?

I have been drumming for over 10 years. I have played countless gigs in and around my community. This probably isn’t saying much, considering I am from the small town of Rotterdam, New York, which you have probably never heard of but that is beside the fact. I am part of a 5-piece funk and R&B band, “The E-Block”, composed of former and current Berklee College of Music students. However, I have never attended Berklee and hence, why my nickname is “The Lone Wolf”. I have played at numerous venues, some more memorable than others. The Red Room, located in Boston, is one of my favorite musical memories. Ed Sheeran, Hozier, Ingrid Michaelson and Snarky Puppy have all played at this superb venue. I highly recommend seeing a show here!
