An avid proponent of education and a life-long learner, Dr. Raymond J. Johnson, earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business and Economics from the University of Maine. He has also received Master’s degrees in Business Administration and Law and Public Policy from Regent University. Dr. Johnson has also successfully completed a Master’s of Divinity and Doctor of Divinity degree program with a concentration in Leadership and Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary.
Launched from his overseer, Bishop B. Courtney McBath, Senior Pastor off Calvary Revival Church-Norfolk, Dr. Johnson planted Calvary Revival Church-Peninsula in 2008. The ministry has grown from 13 members to hundreds of weekly attendees.
Called to preach the gospel at the young age of 12, after receiving Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior at the age of 9, Dr. Johnson previously served the body of Christ as a youth pastor, elder and church administrator. He is a second generation pastor.
Dr. Johnson’s commitment to leadership and serving others extends beyond the walls of the church, and flows into the community. He has served on Virginia’s Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Commission and the Family Foundation’s Pastors for Family Values. He also serves as a gubernatorial appointee on the State Board of Social Services. He is a Hampton Roads Urban League 2010 Decade MLK Award Recipient and has served as co-facilitator at the prestigious Hampton Ministers’ Conference Church Leadership Development Academy.
Dr. Raymond J. Johnson Pastor Johnson and his family live by the “Dominion Mandate,” walking in dominion and occupying until HE comes. He is married to Nakia Johnson and together, they have four beautiful daughters.
