Dominique Garcia

My name is Dominique Garcia and I live in San Antonio, Texas. I am a radio personality and journalist with The San Antonio Express News [Online]. Looking back, I feel being apart of the media has defined me as a radio personality, a journalist, and most importantly, as a person.

While my career has spanned throughout different avenues of the media, it was a career decision that came solely by accident. While initially pursuing a career in the music industry as a music producer, I landed a job in the radio industry. Needless to say I fell in love with it. So much in fact that in the beginning I thought I would never be anything else other than a radio personality. Aside from my growing skills in radio, I had always considered myself to be somewhat of a prolific writer. Ever since I was little I always had a passion for it. In 2009 I was asked to join The San Antonio Express News [Online] as a contributor. Writing had always been my first love growing up so the decision to expand my career into journalism alongside radio was an easy decision. I can be opinionated at times so I feel a media outlet to express those opinions are somewhat therapeutic. I am blessed that my career has given me an opportunity to include aspects of both the spoken, as well as the written word.

Most noteably, I gained international media attention in August 2011 when I created the world's first artificial intelligent radio DJ. (Google it, you'll see)
