Donald Higney

Hello! My name is Donald Higney, and I'm a journalist based in Toronto. Currently I work at theScore as a Basketball News Editor. In the past I interned with the Guelph Nighthawks, a professional basketball team in the Canadian Elite Basketball League. I also write about alumni and faculty for the Faculty of Engineering and Architectural Science (FEAS) at Ryerson. This is my last year in the Journalism program at Ryerson University.

Previously I was the Sports Editor at On The Record News, and have written for various publications such as The Eyeopener, CJRU, and the bridge.

My goal is to work around a basketball team, either as a writer covering a team in the NBA or the league as a whole, or in the front office in some sort of executive role such as communications or basketball operations.

Besides basketball, my interests range from other sports including football, baseball, and UFC. I'm also interested in discovering new music and new books so if you have any recommendations send them my way!

Outside of work I like to spend my time working out, spending time with my friends and family, and trying to catch up on all my shows I’m watching.
