Donato Alfredano is a songwriter, music publisher, and author who received a five year prison sentence after being convicted for a white collar crime. In 2015, he wrote a memoir about his experiences in the criminal justice system called Real Men Wear Beige.

Published independently through CreateSpace, Real Men Wear Beige chronicles Donato Alfredano’s experience of having been arrested at JFK Airport, taken through the New York criminal justice system to the infamous Riker’s Island, county jail, and finally state prison on a charge of official misconduct. Through an intense, ironically humorous and an often emotional narrative, Real Men Wear Beige offers an intimate look at the experience of Alfredano and his fellow inmates as they made their way through the US criminal justice system.

Real Men Wear Beige also has an accompanying soundtrack of the same name that can be found online. Donato Alfredano has one previously published book, Be Strong, Be Tough, Be Smart, where he shares his experiences raising a son with autism.
