Crystal Nunn

I’m Crystal Nunn, a graphic artist, creative designer and the human behind Doodle & Ghoul.

Doodle & Ghoul is a project born from mental health battles, fought on two fronts: Doodle, me; a curious dreamer full of aspirations, hopes and dreams. And my ghoul; a supernatural creative force within, an artistic entity who wants to be released, if not through creativity, then through other more destructive means like anxiety, depression, and dissociation.

After years of aggressively fighting my mental health, trying to slay the dragons, I finally realised how important the process art and creativity is in achieving balance and mental clarity.

I found myself constantly doodling creatures and characters whenever I felt low or was going through difficult times.

My mindful monsters always kept me grounded and in the present.

Doodling helped me realise that I need prioritise self-care by focussing on mindfulness and building sustainable mental health frameworks.

By giving my mental health, my ghoul, the respect it deserves, I can work to reclaim the balance in my life, and I want to share my processes so other people can have better, healthier mindsets.
