Doria Dallos

New York, New York, United States

Doria was born in New York City to Hungarian parents who had escaped to the metropolis from behind the iron curtain of communism. She was raised bi-lingually and bi-culturally in Greenwich Village. At the tender age of 6 she displayed an innate sense for business, starting a successful “nail salon” under a slide at the Washington Square Park children’s playground. Throughout her childhood she delighted in frequenting The Metropolitan Opera, The New York City Ballet, the MoMA, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Frick Collection, Summer Stage at the Delacorte theatre in Central Park and a mileu of other cultural programs with her parents. While other children were engrossed in the newest shows on the Disney Channel, she spiritedly walked to class singing “la Habanera” from Carmen, baffling her classmates. She performed in two productions at Miss Majesty’s Playhouse on Grove Street, took acting classes at the 13th Street Repertory Theatre, and danced Flamenco in the East Village. During the summers Doria would travel with her parents back to “the old country” to visit family, combining these trips with visits to new countries throughout Europe each time. She has traveled to England, Scotland, France, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Switzerland, Belgium, The Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Sweden, and Morocco.

Doria attended The New York City Lab School for middle and half of high school. Later, her family relocated to the Gold Coast of Long Island and she finished her secondary education at North Shore High School. She went on to pursue a degree in Marketing Communication at Emerson College in Boston, and graduated in May of 2014. She spent the spring semester of her junior year studying abroad in Paris, living in St. Germain, which she now calls her second home. She hopes to live and study in France again someday and earn her MBA at the likes of INSEAD or HEC.

Doria has interned at several companies, namely; The Office of Cristina Ehrlich (NYC), Magnolia Pictures (NYC), Boston Common Magazine-a Niche Media publication (Boston), The Daily Front Row (NYC), PartySwank/PartyPoopers (NYC), and Salamatina Gallery (Manhasset, NY). She is interested in pursuing a career in Marketing/PR/Advertising in the luxury goods industry.
