Dorine Were

I am a researcher and PhD student in Fisheries and Aquaculture, with an academic background in Natural Resources Management and Aquatic Sciences. My research focuses on freshwater ecosystem health, cyanobacterial harmful algal blooms, water quality, fisheries and aquatic resources, and the ways environmental changes affect communities and livelihoods, around Lake Victoria. Outside academia, I enjoy writing, running, reading and photography, and I have a growing interest in politics.
