Did you accidentally launch an app that makes a lot of noise? To quickly mute the iPad's volume, just hold down the volume button. You can also set another button to do this in the Settings menu.

It is not necessary to tap on the camera icon to view your gallery. Just swipe your finger to the right to find the video or picture you just took. To view photos you've taken in the past, continue swiping left.

You can set your iPad to preview five lines of a single email. Go to your mail settings under the general heading. Select the number of lines you'd like to see. It will be easier to go through your emails if you can eliminate the unimportant ones right away.

Do you not like having Google set as the default search engine? If so, there is a way for you to change this. Just click on Settings, then Safari and then Search Engine. From here, you can change your search engine preference to Yahoo, Bing, etc. if you wish.

Hate having to tap the Bookmarks icon whenever you are wanting to visit your go-to sites? Within the iPad you can, simply by enabling the bookmarks bar. This option is available under the Settings tab.

iPads are not cheap so be sure to care for it properly. Lots of iPad owners buy screen protectors. It may seem like a flimsy piece of plastic, but it will do a good job of protecting your iPad's screen. Always use soft, damp cloths when cleaning iPad screens. Never use a household cleaning product!
