Doug Dohring founded and serves as Executive Chairman of the innovative edtech company Age of Learning, Inc., a leader in digital early learning resources. He is also Chairman of the philanthropic Age of Learning Foundation, which is a member of UNESCO's Global Education Coalition. Doug Dohring announced the Foundation at the Education World Forum in 2020.
Doug founded Age of Learning in 2007, and in 2010 he announced the launch of ABCmouse.com Early Learning Academy. ABCmouse provides children ages 2-8 with a comprehensive curriculum. Already, more than 8 billion learning activities have been completed on ABCmouse. Doug Dohring and his board of nationally recognized educators guide curriculum design and development of the ABCmouse website and app, which have earned major awards from the educational community. ABCmouse features 10,000+ games and learning activities in science, math, reading, and more. Age of Learning's Bring Learning Home Initiative offers ABCmouse at no cost to to teachers and community institutions, including libraries, Head Start programs, and community centers. Age of Learning partnered the Invest in US initiative, the ConnectHome initiative, and the Bring Learning Home initiative.
In 2018, he spearheaded the company's international expansion, including its partnership with Tencent in China, along with product expansion in the U.S. with the launch of ReadingIQ, a comprehensive digital reading and literacy platform for children ages 2 through 12. In 2019, Doug Dohring and his Age of Learning team launched Adventure Academy, a first-of-its-kind educational massively multiplayer online game (MMO), serving elementary- and middle-school-aged children.
