Douglas Hodgson

As an applied microbiologist I am interested in all areas where microbes can be utilised to provide a useful service or to produce a valued product. This ranges from the exploitation of microbial communities, such as for the treatment of wastewater or the production of electrical power from waste in microbial fuel cells, to the biosynthesis of a desired antibiotic or recombinant protein from a specific microorganism.
