Douglas Ferrer is an Electronic Engineer with more than 5 years of experience in the Healthcare field.
In March 2007 he started a career at Gevenmed in the Radiotherapy department, specifically in Varian's Linear Accelerators ranging from Clinac 2100 to Trilogy doing installations, periodic maintenance and troubleshooting. In January 2008 he was introduced to the General Electric's MRi and CT team and started to build experience working in this area as well. He was trained on Varian Service A course, GE MR Basics, HDe MRi, CT Basics, Lightspeed 5.x, Brightspeed and 7.x CT. In his role of Field Service Engineer he also had to inspect and assist on site planning, as well to deal with customers to guarantee satisfaction.
Before working on the Healthcare field he was a Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) pilot/supervisor in Sea Tech of Venezuela and Venezuela Divers in 2005 – 2006. He was responsible of Visual Inspections, Corrosion Potential Measurements and Width Measurements of oil and gas pipes with ROV for the company Shell.
Douglas also spent a year with PDVSA where he joined a team to inspect instrumentation equipment on oil pump stations and reservoirs as well to design a fire detection system in these facilities.
Aside of his working career he had developed experience on photography doing some portrait and landscape work. In his self taught hobby he also has built skills on photography editing and management software like Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom.
He also had a lot of experience on current computer hardware, software and networking as he had built all his computers and troubleshoot them.
