Douglas Frantz is a former managing editor of the Los Angeles Times and a former investigative editor of the Los Angeles Times. Today, Frantz is a State Department official.

Twice, Douglas Frantz has been a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize. For the Los Angeles Times, Frantz was nominated, along with reporter Murray Waas, for a series of articles on the policies by the Bush Administration that led up to war with Iraq. Murray Waas and Douglas Frantz wrote more than a hundred stories for their Pulitzer nomination. Douglas Frantz and Murray Waas were also winners of the Goldsmith Prize for the same work.
