An educator who emphasizes the pedagogical value of creativity and fun, Douglas Grant served six years as an eighth-grade United States history teacher and five years as a sixth-grade social studies teacher with the Northside Independent School District in San Antonio, Texas. While teaching social studies, he spearheaded the creation of both a fishing club and an archery club. Douglas Grant most recently worked as a substitute instructor in San Antonio’s Randolph Field Independent School District.
Over the course of his career in education, Doug Grant also served 14 years as a middle school counselor with the Northside Independent School District. In addition to holding a master of science in counseling psychology from Our Lady of the Lake University, he completed Safe and Drug Free counselor training and attended Dr. Ed Jacobs' Creative Counseling Techniques seminar on two separate occasions. He also served as a sponsor of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s Hooked on Fishing Not Drugs Club.
