Doug Moore
Doug Moore has spent over twenty-five years watching people in crisis — first as a youth minister sitting across from
teenagers who've gone silent, then as an RN in hospitals where the stakes are measured in heartbeats. He's also logged over
1,000 miles on the trail, leading youth through wilderness expeditions in the backcountry.
His unique background — reading vital signs at the bedside, leading teenagers through the wilderness, and walking with
countless families through crisis — gives him a rare lens on the silent epidemic facing today's boys. After decades of watching
good fathers lose their sons to screens, pornography, and digital addiction, Doug wrote The Vanguard Project: A Tactical Field
Manual for Fathers Fighting for Their Sons to give dads the words, the tools, and the framework they need to lead.
The book combines brain science explained in plain English, word-for-word conversation scripts, age-specific guides for boys
ages 8 through 18, and a wilderness metaphor framework that makes the hardest talks feel natural. It's built on three distinct
strands of experience — the Trail Boss, the RN, and the Youth Minister — all woven together to help fathers move from
reactive to proactive.
Doug lives with his family in the mountains of North Georgia
