I'm Doug, I spent my entire childhood racing dirt bikes all over the country. I turned pro at the age of 14 and when I was 18 I began racing Supercross and Motocross. In 2001 I decided to make the switch from racer to Freestyle Motocross rider, having grown up in the most popular and technical place to freeride in the world, Reche Canyon, it was a natural decision to make. Unhappy with the direction of how contests were judged, I decided to create my own series of freeride events throughout the year, one being the Red Bull Ride to the Hills event. Also, feeding my creative itch, I designed the first mega wallride and the first ever Dirt Bike Quarter Pipe, which is now a staple event in X Games and Nitro World Games. I was fortunate enough to land a job working on Unchained: the true untold story of Freestyle motocross featured on Netflix, a 2016 Emmy Award winning film. Writing is my second passion and for the last 7 years, I’ve found a happiness in storytelling like that of a epic day riding in the hills after a rain. I host a podcast called The Moto X Show, where I have on the most iconic and influential figures in action sports.
