Hi, I'm Doug Peris.
I am an entrepreneur, business leader, investor, mentor and start-up coach.
What sets me apart is my unique perspective, honed through thriving in both the fast-paced world of start-ups and the structured environment of large, global corporations. My experience spans over ten years as a founder of four start-ups, coaching over 300 founders from 40 countries, and two decades of leadership within global technology firms.
I understand the challenges and opportunities for early-stage founders, including the start-up ecosystem and lifecycle. I support founders from ideation to execution to scaling, including their business outlook, strategic and tactical planning, capital strategy, team building, market research, brand awareness, product-market fit, customer acquisition, pitching, and raising funds from investors.
I worked with start-up incubators in Canada (Hyper Accelerator), India (StartupBay), Singapore (Singapore Management University-BIG), and Lebanon (American University of Beirut). I was a judge for the Lee Kuan Yew Global Business Plan and the AI Word Series competitions. I also advise companies in the USA, India, Malaysia, and Singapore.
With over 20 years of experience in senior management roles at global technology firms, I've consistently driven growth, developed high-performing teams, and expanded operations into new markets. As a corporate executive employed by international companies such as Lucent Technologies, Avaya, British Telecom and Vonage, my expertise includes aligning legal, HR, marketing, and other departments to achieve quarterly goals. I'm equally adept at financial management and strategic planning. My leadership style emphasises collaboration with colleagues and fosters an environment of empowerment, balanced with decisive risk-taking, to achieve desired outcomes.
I regularly speak at technology events and conferences and have a healthy network of professional contacts across Asia.
I hold a Master's degree in Management Information Systems, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Finance, and a Bachelor of Business degree. I also have professional qualifications from Google and a Diploma in Digital Marketing from Columbia University.
My interests are food, rugby union, cycling and beach holidays.
