Doyle Brand

Some have described Doyle’s standup comedy like a “dog chasing its own tail.” Doyle performs standup in NY and LA, including The Comedy Store, Flappers, Ice House, Hollywood Improv, Broadway, Dangerfield's (R.I.P.), Eastville, Greenwich Village, and The Grisly Pear Comedy Clubs among many other venues. He has also performed at Burbank and Ventura Comedy Festivals and The World Series of Comedy. Doyle is a graduate of The Jean Shelton Acting Lab (SF), The Ruskin School of Acting (LA) and has studied with comedy coaches Jerry Corley and Steve North. Doyle was in Divergent (2014). Blink and you’ll miss him. He was also a Peace Corps Volunteer in Panama.

​Doyle's ​TV, ​film, ​and theater actor credits include House of Lies (Showtime), State of Georgia (ABC Family) and roles as a Candor witness (Divergent), Professor Vesey (The Curse of Hezekiah), a leading man (Always Us), a snobby college professor (Sunday at Home), a bisexual father (The Crosses), the alter-ego of a screenwriter (The Exquisite Pain), a sly acting teacher (Acting Mad), a zany artist (The Dreamer Examines His Pillow), a drug addict (Hatful of Rain), and a prima donna soldier (PVT. Wars). He has also written, produced, and directed three short films.

Doyle Brand was born in Dansville, New York and raised in Falconer and Cuba, New York. His father, Thomas, is a psychotherapist and his mother, Cynthia, is a painter and aesthetician. Fluent in Spanish, Brand lived in ​Spain (Buenvavista del Norte, Tenerife​)​ as an exchange student before graduating from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Geneseo​ with a degree in Biology. ​
