"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us.Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God.Your playing small does not serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine,we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same" -Marianne Williamson. This happens to be one of my favorite quotes that has been very inspirational in my walk of life.

As child, I traveled around the world to numerous places out of state and out of the country such as Louisiana, Maryland, Washington D.C., Paris, and Rome, but this never stopped me from being successful. From playing basketball, softball, cheer-leading, and track and field, sports has always been used as my outlet that helped me overcome the pressure that any average teenager goes through with learning how to balance out life. I ran track all four years of high school, worked a part -time job, was in the honors society , and graduated with 3.8 GPA.

I am currently a Junior at North Carolina Central University residing in Durham N.C. majoring in political science and minoring in English with cumulative GPA of 3.4. I have had the pleasure of being apart of the cheer-leading program the past two years and I continue to do so with now being on the varsity level. I find the art of politics and learning about our judicial system and how it impacts African American communities stimulating and creates a spark within myself to advocate for justice equality. My five year plan is to apply to law school at NCCU in Durham N.C., or Georgetown and Howard University in Washington D.C. later opening up my own law practice.

My goals are to continue to achieve academic excellence as an undergrad along with law school that will grant me the ability to make a difference and achieve quality in our justice system for all races.
