Dr. Srinivasa Madhavan

I am Dr. Srinivasa Madhavan, an ABIM board-certified hospital medicine physician with over a decade of experience in hospital medicine and physician leadership. My professional work has centered on patient care, hospital operations, quality improvement, medical education, and the development of collaborative clinical environments that support both patients and healthcare teams.

A significant part of my career has involved physician leadership, including serving as Chair of the Department of Medicine. In this capacity and through related leadership responsibilities, I have been involved in physician engagement, hospital operations, quality improvement initiatives, patient throughput, and the coordination of clinical priorities within hospital-based care.

As a hospital medicine physician, my work reflects the realities of modern inpatient care, where clinical judgment, communication, collaboration, and operational awareness all play an important role. Hospital medicine requires physicians to work closely with patients, families, nurses, specialists, case managers, and other members of the care team to support clear decision-making and continuity of care.

Medical education has also been an important part of my professional journey. My experience includes involvement in the education of residents, medical students, and pre-med students, along with academic and teaching responsibilities where appropriate. I value the role of mentorship, clinical learning, and professional development in strengthening the next generation of healthcare professionals.

My approach to medicine is grounded in professionalism, accountability, and patient-centered care. I believe patients and families need not only medical guidance, but also clear explanations, coordinated support, and confidence that their care team is working together with purpose.
